The BitePal App has lowkey changed my life for the better. But there were things I didn't love about it's consistency. However, as this is a start up app, I found grace in it's integration period, just as I am finding peace with myself during my integration period. But the key here, just as in many things is consistency.

These seasons are hard! There is no hiding that fact, but not many people talk about it. Why? Because, it is hard! It is hard to talk about, it is hard to live through, but that is where we end up learning so many valuable lessons. The transitional phase between taking action and seeing results seems to be light years away from one another when in the thick of the moment. The good news about this moment is how malleable the future is. This is the space and time where positive habits are created that yield those desired positive results. Often this is the moment where you take the reins and create consistency for yourself with the tools you have at the time as you begin to curate more.
Recently, in the app the AI nutrition detector has not been super accurate. As a solution, I began individually scanning the Nutrition Facts labels with that function. I realized I could create consistency this way as it would force me to be definitive about the amount of food I was consuming beforehand. This forced me to become mindful of my eating habits and create discipline around the food I was choosing each time I fed my raccoon. I suddenly become more and more conscious around the foods I was choosing that both had a negative impact on my nutrition score, and those that had a positive one. As a result, I soon came to realize my body felt best when I was intentionally fueling it with food that was healthy, nutritious, and unprocessed.
With this in mind, it has led me to build intention around eating more and more fresh produce. Especially, regionally speaking, I have no excuse not to. But when that isn't an option I rely on my binder containing Nutritional Facts label of staple snacks or go to foods I usually have in my home. (My digital copy of course!)
Ultimately, I needed to create consistency and this was the only way I knew how to. I figured I could rely on an external system that was consistent and that would translate into an internal system that was consistent. Building a nutrition binder allowed me freedom in the moment, so all I had to do was weigh my food. The consistency would pay off over time. The value of learning to work and show up for my systems, so eventually, they can work and show up for me has been truly eye opening.
XOXO,
